"I wanted you to know that besides being a very helpful and industrious farm collie, Maggie is also a very important therapy dog. My dad looked forward to visits with Maggie every weekend we would take him breakfast to his apartment.
Shortly after he entered hospice care, we brought Maggie Mae for a visit. We pushed a 2nd hospital bed next to his, and she jumped on it and layed next to him while he petted her shoulders and head. My dad is quite taken with Maggie. He's always been a "dog person", but we brought Maggie with us each time we visited him at his assisted living residence and he had became quite fond of her. Maggie layed close to him and stayed very still - all evening long - even though she was quite nervous when we arrived with her.
So, exactly seven days after his arrival to hospice, on the evening of July 5th, my dad finally passed away. He had one last visit with Maggie on July 4th before he drifted off into oblivion.
We love all our pets, but Maggie is truely one of a kind!"
